Heavenly Lake Tahoe

Heavenly Happy Hour #1 -  Jimmy's at the Landing
Believe it: the nicest restaurant in town has a killer happy hour. Jimmy’s is located inside The Landing Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa, Tahoe’s only five star lakeside resort, which opened just over a year ago. The food at Jimmy’s is ridiculously tasty, thanks to celebrity head chef Maria Elia, and now it’s open for sampling every day from 3-6pm in the bar and lounge area or outside on the patio (there are firepits and plush blankets out there too).

Food: The happy hour at Jimmy’s includes a rotating seasonal menu, with treats like Greek nachos, stuffed grape leaves, and a yummy flatbread with fig, feta and pear. Oh, and the cheese is imported from Greece, so it’s especially delicious.

Drink: With four well-selected draft taps, craft cocktails and house wines from their 2,000 bottle vault, you’ll be in happy hour heaven. And don’t forget to check out the wine taps behind the bar…

Value: As you can imagine, this isn’t your typical 2$ pounder and 50 cent wings happy hour, but it is very reasonably priced considering the much greater level of quality. Food items run from $4-$9, house wines are $8 a glass, draft beer is $5 a pint, and well drinks are $7. Eating and drinking so well comes with a slight bump in price, but it is resoundingly worth it, and you won’t find anything like it elsewhere.

Service: We definitely had a “how does she remember all that?” experience with the bartender, which was the first trademark of a restaurant that cares about what they are serving. Although she was busy, our bartender remained attentive and fun, and the entire staff makes you feel like the red carpet is rolled out for you.

Fun: There is much to be said about the venue itself. The bar wall at Jimmy’s is made of onyx, and comes together to look like a wine bottle in the center—good for getting everyone loosened up after a day at work. There are flatscreen TVs with the game on, but also live music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. We caught Saxy Frank at our outing—pretty magical indeed. It’s a cozy, welcoming space that feels relaxing and casual in spite of the gorgeous décor.

With one word or phrase from each diner, Jimmy’s can be summarized as classy meets cozy, James Bond, great food, and welcoming atmosphere.
